I've missed out on writing a whole years worth of cute stuff

If I'm going to do my 365 family blog.. maybe I can try to be better at updating the tidbits blog as well.

Bright (age almost 3)
Mom: "Bright are you poopy?"
Bright: "No, I not poopy... Jeannie did it"

Brighton (age 3) I'm sitting at the computer and he is eating lunch.
Bright: Mom.. Mom.... MOM!!!!!
Me: What bud?
Bright: I sure do love these sgetti o's!

Bright (age 3) (I tooted) Bright says, "Mom, you need a diaper change? You need to go poo poo in the potty?"

Bright (age 3) Looking at something we are working on in the kitchen. "Wow! That's incredible!"

So many.... I just need to write as many as I can remember

Kaden.. age 6
Kade: "mom.. you know how much I love you? I love you one billion, trillion and three quarters!"
Avery.. You know how much I love you mom? A Whole Lot.

Avery.... age 3 1/2
(on carving pumpkins)
"pumkin guts are agusting"

"star light star brite.. star I see tonite. I wish for a mermaid dress for me and my baby!"

(When it gets bright outside)
"look mom.. it's already good morning time!"

Brighton..... age 21 months
Although bright is just a little guy and just learning to speak... some of his words are the cutest of all. He's starting to say so many cute things.
Brighton went into the bathroom when brian was doing his thing, then he shut the door and said, "c ya... bye"

He can tell us what he wants.
I want ceeero (cereal). I want bobble (bottle). I need cookie (any other kind of food)
I want caiya (caterpillar.... Baby Einstein Movie), I need bankie (blankie)

Bright asks for "Caiya" When Baby Einstein comes on, Bright smiles big.. runs to the couch, claps his hands and says Yeah!!!!. Then will sit there until it's over. When the final credits show.. he starts saying mom.mom.mom.mom... until I come and push play again. Sometimes he'll go and push play himself :)

Who does Nicole belong to?

Abby was just telling me about a girl in her kindergarten class. This was our conversation: 

Abby: Mommy, I have a new girl in my class

me: Really?

Abby: Ya. Her name is Nicole

me: Nicole? 

Abby: Ya mom. She is my school Nicole, not Hunters' Nicole

Mom: "Avery, will you go in and start picking up your tea party stuff?"

(Tattling on Dad)
My kids are doing awesome on doing jobs. We've got a great little schedule going which includes a bigger job they have to help Brian with when he is home. One day.. Brian must have not given them a job because this is what I heard when I got home.
Kaden: "Mom.. dad didn't give us our Super Duper Daddy's Day off job"

(I WILL REMEMBER THAT HE WAS ACTUALLY TATTLING THAT HE DIDN'T DO A JOB WHEN HE'S A TEENAGER AND WONT WANT TO LIFT A FINGER TO DO ANYTHING!!!!!)

Mom the slave driver

Kaden- 2 days before he turned 6

Kaden was talking to his grandma larsen on the phone. He was trying to schedule his annual birthday shopping trip with her. She suggested they go Friday morning.
Kaden said, "Well, I have to get up and then I have to do my jobs.. so why don't you come over after that?"

About 3 different times in the conversation he told her he needed to do his jobs. Finally I told him he could miss doing his jobs for one day and he said, "Grandma guess what? My mom said I didn't need to do my jobs on Friday, so you can come over and get me in the morning!"

Prayer Time

Wow!!! Brights first entry!

I told the kids to come and get ready for prayer and Brighton came over to the couch, and said,
"na en eoij alls dk na , ana na ..... namen!"

Where is heaven?

Today in the car, Riley and I were talking about what happens to people when they die. He was thinking for a minute, then said, "So mom, where will all of the Lamanites go? They were all pretty bad. Well, there was at least one good lamanite. He'll be ok, but all the others will go to Satan's Heaven. 

Sunday Dessert

Avery age 3

Mom: Avery.. what should we make for dessert tonight?
Avery: We just HAVE to have fruit snacks?
Mom: Fruit snacks?
Avery: OK.. it's a deal.

One funny Dude

Josh... (Kaden's friend) Age 5

Josh was over playing the other day and I heard Avery say... "Josh, you're funny"

Josh then said... "Ya I know. I went to funny school when I was little"

I've been told

Kaden age 5

Brian and I just got home from New York and I had to jump right back into cake stuff. At dinner, Kaden said,
"mom... after dinner can we cuddle on the couch and watch a movie and NO CAKES!!!"

Party

Garrett Age 5

This morning I was telling Garrett and Camri that Madison is going to have a birthday next.  

Garrett: Are we going to have a party?

Mom: Yes, what do you want to do?

Garrett: How about go on a date?

Mom: Who go on a date?

Garrett: Us with Madison.

Mom: Where do you want to go?

Garrett: Um, to Grandpa's house.

Who Needs Help Saying a Prayer?

Avery age 3

I was helping Avery add a little more to her prayer than the usual... "Heavenly Father thank you for this day, bless me to be good. Name of Jesus Christ Amen".....

So I was helping her say a few more things and I said, "bless me to follow..... (I was going to say the prophet) but Avery finished my sentence by saying "bless me to follow the leader".

Racing

This afternoon Camri and Garrett were running back and forth racing.

Garrett: Mom I always win Camri.

Camri: Mom, I always lossing. (and then she hits her knee and is like oh..)

Whos the Adult

A couple sundays ago I had to get mad at Brian for turning on a video game for Kaden to play during sacrament meeting. I let Kaden know that it wasn't the best place to play video games because it's not a reverent thing to do at church. Well last sunday, Brian turned on the dumb game again and Kaden looked up at Brian, turned off the phone and said, "Dad.. do you remember what mom told us about games at church?"

Brian got told! Way to go Kade:)

My favorite Fish

Kaden Age 5 Avery Age 3

Kaden: My favorite fish is a sword fish because they fight.

Avery: My favorite fish is a princess fish because they dance.

(Oh the difference between boys and girls are hard to distinguish huh?)

Sleeping

Camri woke up in the middle of the night and was crying because her door slammed shut because we had her window open because it sounds like she is getting croup.

Camri: (crying) Mom my door keeps shutting. Is it time to wake up yet? (it is 3:30 in the morning) Will you lay with me for just a teeny bit.

(How could any mom say no to that)

Kids thinking

On Sunday Eric had the following conversation with the kids:

Camri: Dad, will you set up my tent for me?
Dad: No, you need to pick up the toys in the family room.
Garrett: Camri, you should've asked mom.

Just to back myself up I don't always give my kids whatever they want but Garrett apparently thinks I do.

growing up

I heard Riley and Abby talking in their room after going to bed tonight. This is unusual because they always go to sleep so quickly. I peeked in, and asked why they weren't asleep yet. Riley responded:

"You guys always get to stay up late, so we are just practicing to be a mom and a dad for when we grow up. We will finish soon."

balding bugs?

Abby saw a picture of my dad (her grandpa) when he was younger. I pointed out his stylin' plaid suit, but she was focused on his bald head and full beard.

Abby: "Mom, I know what happened to Grandpa"
Me: What happened?
Abby: "The baby baby bugs came and ate the middle of his head all up. They ate his hair and everything."

When Mom's Away... the Children Play

I went on a little R&R this week to Vegas with my friend Emily. Here are just a few things the kids said when I talked to them on the phone:

Kaden: Age 5
"Mom.. you will never believe it... Dad brought home grandpa's video games without telling you! They are so cool!"
(ya... mom's not a huge fan of video games.. I have a feeling they were played pretty much 24-7 while I was gone)

"mom, are going to bring me home a present? (Me) "Yep I am Kade, what would you want. (Kaden).. Well... you know what I want mom. (Me.) "So Kade, what do you want? (Kaden).. "I want it to be a surprise"
(Me.. thinking to myself.. "oh crap.. there goes the bubbles I bought him pre trip to act as if that was his present. He's not going to want some stinkin bubbles")

"Hey mom.. if I'm not awake when you get home, you can just leave my present on the bottom bunk"

(The best of all)
"Kaden saw me in bed this morning and he got a huge smile on his face, ran as fast as he could into my bed, hugged me and said, "I missed you mom" (Ahhhh... bring tears to my eyes.. I love this kid!)

Avery age 3
(Avery didn't want to talk to me much on the phone, but here are a couple things she did say)

"(holding her baby while playing with Kaden) "wa, wa, wa.... My baby got hurt with the weapons from the bad guys"

"Mom.. we are watching a movie and having popcorn and having fun without you. You NOT invited!

Once again.. the tear jerker... This morning she came in and started talking to brian, when I looked up at her, she stopped in the middle of her sentence and came running into my covers and cuddled with me and gave me a huge hug and said, "MOMMY! I miss you!" (seriously.. I don't ever want them to stop being so cute. It's so validating as a mom to get reactions like this)

Then speaking of reactions... Bright really could have cared less. I don't think he even remembered who I was for a couple hours. He just kept looking at me funny.
